About us…

The Gorge Composite team is a non-profit mountain biking team composed of private, public, and homeschooled school student-athletes in grades 6-12 from the Columbia River Gorge area. The team is managed and coached by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Team Goals

Gorge Composite coaches are squarely focused on creating a team culture that is welcoming, safe, and fun. We strive to teach riders that mountain biking is a life-long activity that will build strong minds, strong bodies, strong character, and communities through cycling.

The Gorge Composite team goals are simple:

Promote fitness,

Ride & race safely,

Include & value every rider

Have fun

Our Athletes

This is a unique co-ed high school and middle school team environment. There are no cuts; everyone rides and contributes to the team, no matter their ability level. Our athletes learn skills like changing flats and how and why to carry appropriate gear and tools. Our athletes engage in community service, collaborative problem-solving, and goal setting. We emphasize creating stronger and more confident student-athletes on and off the bike.

Gorge Composite competes in the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League, a league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
